Our spring litter is now home, or on their way soon with their new families. Once again Sheila and I are blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. We love these dogs and have an attachment for the life of the dog and beyond. Our new extended family is too good. We do not deserve it.

Congratulations Greta, on a job well done, and thank you Lord for more blessings.

our Spring 2008 Litter is now 3 weeks old

Congratulations Greta, Enjoy your retirement

Greta has issued us her retirement request and we grant it, happily. Greta whelped her last litter a week ago and she has informed us that once the are weened she will be retiring from Enfield Kennels. We wish Greta well in her upcoming life of hunting and couch & counter surfing. Greta’s accomplishments are vast, but after a great show carreer and hunt testing to whelping 30 puppies in 3 litters she is done. Join us in wishing her well.

We love you Greta. Maybe we can convince her to show  in a veteran class, every once in a while, since she may still want to win a ribbon every now and then.

One week to go

                                                                                                                                                                                         I took these pictures today when Greta and I went out for our afternoon walk. I thought that the time was right to share how huge she really is. Oh my lord what have I ( and Barney) done to this sweet little girl. Well we have made all the preparations for the impending whelping day. She still has a week to go but I doubt if she will make it that far. If there is a brood bitch hall of fame,Greta should be inducted now!

We just got home from Dr. Smith’s, And Greta is pregnant! I was pretty sure, but I always like confirmation. Dr. Smith did an ultrasound and we counted at least 6 puppies. There may be more, hard to tell at 4 weeks. I will Post updates as we have them, If you are on the wait list don’t delay on your  deposit agreement. If you are new to team enfield make sure to contact us. Colleen is thrilled, just like we are. I’m posting the picture of Greta with 14 puppies, lets hope this litter is not that big.

January 29th, 2008 and we are expecting little Griffs 

around April 1st, 2008. Enfield and Sage Ridge are 

expecting wonderful puppies from this breeding. We 

expect great coat, great hunting instinct, great cooperation 

and, of course, great show ring presence.

Our Daughters and Grand Daughters came to Wye Mountain for the Daffodil Festival and Sheila’s Birthday. I was quite a time. The puppies are tired and so are we. God, Family and Friends is all we have that matters. Things seem quiet this afternoon. Pups are resting. I guess I’ll watch some hoops.
